The News, Talk, Sights and Sounds of the Warfleigh Neighborhood

Tabi and I are finally getting married in September. We're doing it in her Grandma's yard in Bloomington and are looking to decorate the event with flowers and candles in all types of glass jars. She's asked me to collect about 400 of them and I'm only about a quarter of the way there. I know there must be plenty of folks in the neighborhood that recycle or throw away oodles of glass jars every week. I'd love to re-purpose those jars and use them to decorate our wedding reception. I'll take whatever you've got, from baby food size to jumbo pickle jars. They will be put to good use and then recycled after the event. If you have some that you'd like to share, I'd be delighted to come pick them up. Just let me know and I'll be happy to come and get them. I'll post again when we have enough jars. Thanks neighbors for helping us out!

What a fun idea, I'll start saving mine, we go through a fair amount of pasta sauce in a few months time! Bridget Carson

Wonderful! We really appreciate it. Just let me know when you need me to stop by and get them.

Do you need lids, too, or just the glass jar?  I have a few and would be happy to collect what I buy between now and September for you!

Thanks Donna. No lids needed, just jars. I can get them whenever they start getting in the way, just let me know.
Our loss is your gain!  I have about a dozen glass jars - our refrigerator died this weekend, so I washed out ALL the jars of jellies, sauces, etc.  I'll put them in a bag on my front porch - 6333 Washington, take them whenever is convenient!
